My 2026 Travel Content Creator Setup: The Complete Gear Guide
Traveling for a living looks effortless online. The reality is usually a heavy backpack, tangled cables, and the constant fear of a dead battery. Over the last year of building Making Miles And Memories, I realized that getting high quality content on the road requires a very specific balance. You need gear that performs like a studio but fits in a carry on bag.
Because I do marketing and brand strategy for a living, I have zero patience for equipment that slows down my workflow or ruins the visual aesthetic of my feed. Every piece of tech I pack has to earn its space.
If you want to start creating better travel videos and photos this year, here is the exact 2026 content creator setup I use to shoot, record, and edit everything on my channels.

About Me
Hi, I’m Ralu, a passionate traveller who traded routine for the thrill of exploring the world. What began as a simple getaway soon turned into a journey of discovery, shaping Making Miles and Memories into what it is today.

Best Travel Cameras and Stabilization Gear
I like gear that works hard but does not make me feel like I am carrying a production studio through an airport. For my main visuals, I rely on the OBSBOT Meet 2. It is compact, punches way above its weight in image quality, and does not draw a crowd when I am filming in a luxury resort.
To keep my tracking shots looking cinematic as I walk through a hotel or a new city, I use the Insta360 Flow 2 Pro gimbal. It is brilliant for phone content. I pair this with the NEEWER SAB234 Portable Camera Tripod. It folds down small enough for my luggage but stays completely stable when I need to lock off a shot for a time lapse or a solo photo.
I do not want content creation to interrupt the experience. I want to capture the moment, not stage-manage it to death. So when I choose cameras and support gear, I always choose pieces that feel easy, clean, and realistic to travel with.
Audio for Travel Vlogging
Bad audio is the fastest way to make someone scroll past your video. People will watch grainy footage, but they will not listen to wind noise.
I trust the RODE ecosystem for all my sound. The RODE Wireless GO is my holy grail for travel. It cuts out background noise in busy airports and windy beaches without any fuss. When I want the microphone to be invisible for a sit down video, I plug in the RODE Lavalier II. It delivers clean, broadcast quality voice pickup every single time.
Portable Lighting Setup for Hotel Room Tours
Hotel lighting is notoriously terrible. It is usually too yellow, too dim, or casts harsh shadows. I never rely on natural light because it is entirely unpredictable.
For quick color accents and lighting tight spaces, I always pack two NEEWER RGB61 Magnetic lights. They are tiny and stick to any metal surface. When I am at home or setting up a proper sit down recording, I bring out the heavy hitters. My studio lighting consists of two NEEWER RGB1200 LED Video Lights and two NEEWER NL660 LED Softbox Lights. This exact combination gives me that soft, high end editorial look you see on my feed.
Essential Tech Accessories and Travel Power Banks
Nothing kills a shooting day faster than a dead battery on a remote island. Power and storage are non negotiable.
The absolute anchor of my travel bag is the UGREEN 20000 mAh 165W Power Bank. This thing is a beast and can charge my entire setup mid flight. To get all that heavy 4K footage off my devices and onto my drives quickly, I use a dedicated Multiport hub and a USB-C to Dual Digital Type C Adapter. This keeps my file management fast so I can actually enjoy the destination instead of sitting behind a laptop all night.
Software Stack for Editing and Social Media Design
The Making Miles And Memories aesthetic actually comes together in post production. I do not edit inside the Instagram app.
I cut and color grade all my raw video files using DaVinci Resolve. It gives me total control over the mood of the footage. For quick audio fixes and captions, I run things through Veed or ElevenLabs.
Finally, I build all my graphics, Instagram carousels, and blog assets from scratch using Figma and Adobe Illustrator. This is where my graphic design background pays off the most. Using professional design tools instead of generic templates guarantees that my branding looks completely custom and cohesive across every platform.
